Looking for an Editor?

I have worked for over 25 years as a college English professor and have served as part of the editorial board of Alice James Books and as an  editor of MEAD: A Magazine of Literature and Libations. I also have extensive freelance experience working with writers at all stages of the writing process, from outlining and manuscript development to copy editing and proofreading. I work with both scholars developing full-length manuscripts and peer-reviewed articles as well as creative writers working on memoirs, poetry, and fiction.  Authors I have worked with have published with major university presses and publishing houses.

I specialize in CNF/memoir, travel writing, poetry, ESL/ELA writing, and scholarly writing.  My experiences both as a professional editor and having my own books come out help me to understand the whole book publication process—from submission and acceptance to post-publication marketing and promotion— and I am always happy to advise regarding that as well.   I respond quickly to all emails and respect the importance of deadlines and good communication with the writer.  I'm here to help make your work  its best!
